What is the Varjo Base Pro license?

Varjo Base Pro is a license for XR-4 Series headsets. The license gives you access to an expanded feature set in Varjo Base that enables more advanced mixed reality workflows, deeper customization options, and enhanced data access.

Details of the specific features made available with the Varjo Base Pro license will be shared at the time of Varjo Base version 4.10, targeted for release in April.

Pricing

XR-4 and XR-4 Focal Edition:
• €/$ 2,500 – Annual license
• €/$ 5,000 – Perpetual license

The licenses are headset specific and can be activated for any XR-4 Series headset.

All XR-4 Secure Edition headsets purchased after March 25th, 2025, will include a Pro license.

Do I need a Varjo Base Pro license for my headset?

The license is required for XR-4 Series headsets that were purchased after March 25th, 2025, for using the full professional feature set in Varjo Base.

However, Varjo wants to recognize XR-4 Series customers who purchased their headsets before March 25th, 2025. As an exemption, these customers can continue to use the existing features included in the 4.10 release without a license.

XR-4 Series headsets can still be used with Varjo Base software without a license. In this case, some professional software features will not be available.
