Release notes
I am currently using an earlier Varjo headset model. How do I know if my computer is compatible with new headset models?
Varjo headsets are compatible with a wide range of Windows desktop computers. The following broad guidelines apply:
Upgrading to XR-4:
- We recommend that you check if your computer meets the system requirements for XR-4. XR-4 requires high throughput USB connectivity only available in newer chipset generations. For more information, see the list of compatible chipsets.
Upgrading to other headset models:
- If you are currently using the XR-1 Developer Edition, it is likely that your computer is compatible with XR-3 and VR-3 as well.
- If you are currently using a VR-2 Pro, VR-2, or VR-1, we recommend that you check if your computer is compatible with other headsets. The newer headset models have higher hardware requirements for the CPU and GPU.
We recommend using a desktop computer for better performance. Please check the Varjo-Ready Computers at https://varjo.com/varjo-ready-computers/ and the general guidelines at System requirements for Varjo headsets – Varjo.com.
