Varjo Base release channels

Varjo Base releases are divided into two channels: Release candidate and Main release. This allows the Release candidates to be validated in real-world customer environments before they are promoted to Main releases.

Main release (Default)

The fully validated version with all critical bugs and quality issues resolved. The Main release is recommended for all users.

Release candidate

The Release Candidate is the final phase before a release is promoted to a Main release. It has undergone full testing and validation by Varjo.

The purpose of the Release candidate is to ensure that it works as expected across a wide range of customer environments. This phase helps us identify real-world issues that may not appear during internal testing.

Any critical bugs or quality issues found in the Release candidate will be fixed before announcing it as a Main release.

Changing release channel in Varjo Base

Choose which release channel you want your Varjo Base to check against in Settings > Support > Software updates > Release channel

Note that changing the release channel requires Varjo Base version 4.15 or newer.
