Improved resolution quality setting

Added the ability to adjust the resolution of virtual reality content in Varjo Base and in the Varjo Command-line Interface (Beta) using percentages, providing greater flexibility in finding the optimal resolution. This improvement supports a wide range of setups and allows for more precise adjustments. Additionally, the adjustment range has been expanded, enabling both lower and higher values than before for better customization. Read more about Resolution quality.

You can now use the Varjo Command-Line interface (Beta) to script your headset to start automatically. This allows you to automate tasks, such as starting the headset together with your system, eliminating the need for manual startup.

Final Varjo Base release for XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero

This release is the final Varjo Base version that supports XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero. You can continue using your headset with this and older versions of Varjo Base.

Improvements and bug fixes:

  • Added the capability to use hand tracking and hand occlusion in Varjo Workspace to interact with the Applications panel and Menu.
  • Added a “Render only VR when using OpenXR” setting in Varjo Base under System > Compatibility that allows rendering content exclusively in virtual reality mode when using OpenXR applications. (All headset models)
  • Added the eye camera view to the full screen mode in Varjo Base. (All headset models)
  • Improved Varjo System logs to include information from OpenXR runtime.
  • Improved the tracking stability of static Varjo Markers.
  • Fixed an issue where masks that were linked to the same anchor were not displayed correctly when uploaded to Varjo Base.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the configured tracking method to reset. (XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero)
  • Fixed an issue where XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero sometimes failed to initialize properly. 
  • Fixed an issue where resetting Varjo Base settings with the command-line interface did not reset all settings.

Developer tools and APIs:

  • Analytics window:
    • Improved foveated rendering visualization when running multiple applications.
  • OpenXR:
    • Fixed an issue where Varjo client libraries displayed unnecessary logs on standard output, causing disturbances of standard output from application.
    • Fixed an issue where the .../input/palm_ext/pose path for XR_EXT_palm_pose did not behave correctly when used with XR_EXT_hand_interaction, causing the palm pose to never become tracked or valid due to missing data from hand tracking.
    • Fixed an issue where OpenXR applications incorrectly handled quad layers placed in different spaces, causing layers to move inaccurately when multiple spaces were used.

Known issues: 

  • OpenXR: 
    • Varjo Base does not show a warning when using the Simulate option in the Analytics window that Varjo OpenXR runtime is not selected as the default runtime, which can cause unpredictable system behavior.
