What does end-of-support for older-generation models XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero mean?
Varjo Base support for XR‑3, VR‑3, and Varjo Aero ended on January 1, 2026. The final compatible release is version 4.14. You can continue using your headset with Varjo Base 4.14 and earlier versions without licenses or login. However, note that the following features are no longer supported:
- Varjo Base updates and bug fixes
- XR, VR, and offline subscriptions
- Out-of-warranty technical and developer support
- Out-of-warranty spare parts for sale
- Out-of-warranty repairs services
Note that your warranty coverage remains fully intact, even though support for the headsets has ended.
To help organizations maintain essential functionality, Varjo offers an Extended compatibility package for XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero. This package is exclusively available for business customers and is designed to support the transitions to newer solutions or to extend the lifecycle of your current headsets. Consumers are not eligible to purchase this package.
We are permanently sold out of XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero headsets, and production has been discontinued for these devices.
We are now focusing our manufacturing efforts on the XR-4 Series headsets, our latest professional-grade virtual and mixed reality device.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero customers for pushing the boundaries of virtual reality together with us. We are as committed as ever to innovating and raising immersive experiences to new heights with our XR-4 Series.
