Analytics window

The Analytics window in Varjo Base includes tools that are useful for developers in particular. To open the Analytics window, in the Toolbar select More > Analytics window. Click the icon in the bottom left corner to bring up the toolbar.

The following features are available in the Analytics window toolbar:

Advanced view options	Enables or disables viewports that are visible in the headset view. The options are Left, Right, Peripheral, and Focus, which correspond to the view from the left and right eye, as well as the peripheral and focus areas.
Screenshot, Screen recording	Captures a screenshot or records video of the headset view. Screenshots are saved in the Pictures > Varjo folder and videos in the Videos > Varjo folder on your computer. The Varjo logo and device name is added by default to screenshots and videos. It is optional to use them, and you can adjust your preferences in the Presentation tab in the Settings tab. (XR-4 Series, XR-3, VR-3, and Varjo Aero)
Eye tracking	If eye tracking is not calibrated, the Eye tracking button first opens calibration. The following options are available after eye tracking is calibrated: Enable Show gaze dot in the mirror view to display an eye tracking target that shows where the user is looking. The target is visible only in the Analytics windows and not inside the headset. Select Log eye tracking data while screen recording to export eye tracking data alongside a screen recording.
Performance	Displays live data about the performance of the current application. Set application framerate: Adjust the framerate for the current application as if the Vertical synchronization feature were in use. Application: rendering framerate for the current application Application CPU: CPU time used to construct a single frame in the application Application GPU: GPU time used to construct a single frame in the application Display latency: Time elapsed between the last WaitSync call and the image being rendered on-screen Compositor CPU: CPU usage for the Varjo Compositor Compositor GPU: GPU usage for the Varjo compositor Camera stream performance: The initialization process for the headset’s camera streams The statuses for each stream are Idle, Starting, or Running. To ensure reliable restart of the headset, the headset should only be powered on when all processes are in “Idle” state. Once the camera systems are up and running, the tool displays the status of each individual stream with color-coding: Green color: system is performing as expected Yellow and Red color: status may occasionally briefly display yellow color, which is not yet an indication of performance issues. However, if any of the streams shows up constantly as yellow or red, some of the features of the headset are not functioning correctly. In this case, it is recommended to check that your computer’s USB port and motherboard chipset are compatible with XR-4. See System requirements for XR-4 for more information.
Depth	Toggles the depth buffer view for applications that use depth estimation.
Foveated rendering	Opens further options related to foveated rendering: Enable Show foveated rendering area to visualize the area rendered in the highest resolution. Use Move gaze with mouse to simulate a user’s gaze by moving your mouse. The foveated rendering area follows the mouse cursor. Enable Lock headset pose to current location to lock the image in the headset view in place. Note that this button is visible only when using or simulating XR-3, VR-3, or Varjo Aero.
Simulate, Video pass-through	Shows further options for simulating different Varjo headset models. Select a headset model in the Simulated headset drop-down list. Select XR-4 or XR-3 to bring up additional settings: Varjo Base Pro: With a Varjo Base Pro license you can simulate an XR-4 Series headset that does not have access to Varjo Base Pro features. Video pass-through emulation Video pass-through Note that the Analytics window may restart when you select a headset model to simulate.
Video pass-through emulation, Video pass-through	Video pass-through emulation: Select a color or image to replace the feed from the mixed reality cameras. Use an image in PNG, JPEG, BMP, or BIN format with a resolution of at least 1000 x 1000 pixels for best results. Video pass-through: View the simulated camera feed.
Action tap, Action button, Menu button	Emulate the physical headset touch area / buttons on Varjo headsets: Invoke a tap gesture of the touch area in XR-4. Invoke a press of the Menu button in other headset. Note that the names of the headset buttons depend on your headset model.
Mouse and WASD	Simulates headset movement. When enabled, you can rotate and move in the view as follows: Click and drag the mouse to rotate. Move forward, backward, and sideways using the W, A, S, and D keys. Move up and down by pressing Q and E.
Full screen	Toggles the full-screen mode for the Analytics window.
